The 2008 New Mexico Trout Conclave will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. New Mexico Trout is a registered, non-profit organization, which is an active voice for conservation and fishing education in our state. Past efforts by the organization include Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout reintroductions, riparian rehabilitations, trout spawning studies, trout stockings, beginner’s fishing clinics and kid’s fishing projects. Current projects include restoration of Rio Grande Cutthroat habitat on Comanche Creek and efforts to help the endangered Gila Trout in southern New Mexico’s Black Canyon. We are proud to be involved with the ongoing development of the management plans for the Valles Caldera National Preserve, a spectacularly beautiful area that became accessible to fishermen just last year.
The main function of the conclave is to raise funds for the organization to operate on a yearly basis. We do this by holding a raffle at the end of the conclave where items such as custom-built rods, reels, flies, guided trips, fishing passes, fly tying material and much more are given away. New Mexico Trout then uses the money raised for the projects mentioned above.
This year, we are pleased to announceJoe Humphreys, Landon Mayer & Bill Frangos as our guest speakers for the event.

He is sharing these techniques and secrets in a book titled, “How to Catch the Biggest Trout of Your Life” published by Wild River Press, and his DVD “Landing the Trout of Your Life” featuring John Barr produced by Mad Trout Media.
