The intrepid tiers of the Fly Tying Round Table, which have met every week since before recorded history, have begun to offer tying classes on the third Tuesday of every month, from 7-9pm. Each class will feature a specific fly to demonstrate some particular technique. An experienced tier will demonstrate the fly to the class while students follow the steps. Students can bring their own equipment or it will be provided. The lesson will include advice on how to fish the particular fly and the times and places in New Mexico where it would be a good choice. The first offering in October was a great success with a half dozen new tiers learning to tie, and also how to fish, the Wooly Bugger.
Fly tiers of all levels are welcome. This class is intended for current and prospective New Mexico Trout members. Non-members can attend two classes, but after that time they will be expected to join NMT for a reduced price of $20 for the remainder of the year. Come join the fun and learn some new tying skills!
