  • New Mexico Trout Fly Tyers Roundtable

    Due to Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center now requiring any person that uses the facility to have a $20 membership we have moved the fly tying classes to the Holiday Park Community Center to better accommodate our fly tyers. You'll still need a membership but at the community center they are free. Please arrive early the first time you attend class to get your membership taken care of.

    Rod will provide tying instructions as well as the tying demonstration on Tuesday night.

    Rod will be teaching his Rod's Hopper pattern. This will be a two session fly. The first session will cover using packing tape for the wing and the segmented body tool instructions.

    Materials list:

    Hook: Size 10 - 12 200R Curved Dry Fly Hook

    Thread: Yellow or Tan 6/0 or equivalent

    Body: Yellow and Tan Foam for extended body

    Dubbing: Cream or Yellow

    Legs: Medium White Rubber

    Wing: Prepared Pheasant Breast Feather

    Indicator: Yellow Foam
