Valles Caldera Fly Fishing Clinics
July 11, 2026
The rangers of the Valles Caldera are sponsoring four (4) fly fishing clinics for adults and children of NM. New Mexico Trout will be leading the clinics and needs volunteers to coach and support the kids. All events will be held at the Valles Caldera north of Jemez Springs.
All clinics will be held on Saturdays. Volunteers will meet at the Visitor Center at 9:00 AM. Dates of the clinics are:
• June 13, 2026
• June 27, 2026
• July 11,2026
• August 1, 2026If you are willing to help coach the participants, please contact Bruce Newton by
email: vallescaldera@newmexicotrout.orgOnly a little experience in fly fishing is needed. You do not need to be an expert, just an interest in helping people be introduced to the great sport of flyfishing and the outdoors.
To be informed of signup for each individual clinic follow the Valles Caldera National Preserve on FaceBook or Instagram. There is a limit of fifteen (15) participants per clinic. Slots for clinics have filled up within hours of the post.

When: Each month, first and third Tuesdays unless it is a meeting day or a holiday
Location: Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center Room 3, 501 Elizabeth St SE Albuquerque, NM 87123Time: 6-8:30 pm
Rod will provide tying instructions as well as the tying demonstration on Tuesday night.

New Mexico Trout would like to invite folks out to the Canteen Brewhouse @ 6:00PM for a night of informal socializing.
Join us to get to know New Mexico Trout better, the who we are and what we do, along with being able to share some fishing stories and possibly meet some future fishing buddies.
There is no cost to attend but it is a cash bar for those that show up. They also have food available for those that are interested.
