The 2026 New Mexico Trout Conclave will be held Saturday, March 7th and the fly tying seminar on Sunday March 8th, 2026 at the CNM Workforce Training Center.

Our two speakers will be George Daniel, author, fisherman and naturalist and Cinda Howard, fishing guide and Arizona Department of Game & Fish Hall of Fame member from the White Mountains of Arizona. They bring a wealth of knowledge about fishing nationally and in Arizona. See each persons bio below next to their picture. This conclave will be an extra special event as both of our speakers, as you’ll read below, are passionate about teaching people about the sport and lifestyle we call fly fishing,

We will be holding both the conclave and fly tying events at the CNM Workforce Training Center just west of I-25 and north of Alameda.

Catered lunch by Jason’s Deli is included with tickets purchased by March 2nd.

George Daniel

George has been chasing anything that swims with his fly rod since age 6 and still has the same passion 37 years later. George has competed at a high level for Fly Fishing Team USA, earning individual back to back US National Fly Fishing Championship titles and ranked as high as 5th in the World. George has also served as captain for Fly Fishing Team USA and Coach for the US Youth Fly Fishing Team. He has competed and won other regional and national fly fishing competitions over the years. At age 30, George decided to give up competitive fly fishing and focus on what he enjoys most, teaching.

George Daniel considers himself a teacher first and a fly fisher second. He has authored four best selling fly fishing books and has authored dozens of articles for national fly fishing publications, including Fly Fisherman and Fly Fusion Magazine. He continues to travel the county conducting lessons and workshops for private groups, corporations, and conservation organizations.  He’s a brand ambassador for a number of fly fishing companies and is currently the Director of the Joe Humphreys Fly Fishing Program at the Pennsylvania State University.

Cinda Howard

Cinda Howard has been guiding full-time for over 15 years. She has spent her entire life fishing and picked up a fly rod in 1996. She worked for the Orvis Company as a Fly Fishing Manager for eight years before branching out and starting her own business in 2012. Cinda dedicates a considerable amount of time to instructing people in the sport of fly fishing.

She is the only fly fishing guide to be inducted into the Arizona Game and Fish Hall of Fame.

Cinda has been featured in several fly fishing articles and books—”Casting Onward” by Steve Ramirez; “Fly Fisher’s Guide to Arizona”  by Will Jordan; and “Arizona’s Official Fishing Guide” by Arizona Highways and the Arizona Game and Fish Department—as an expert on fly fishing in Arizona. She is extremely passionate not only about fly fishing but also about teaching others. She hosts trips across the world and has taken clients fly fishing in Alaska, Belize, Oregon, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and The Bahamas.

Cinda loves to fish for trout, steelhead, pike, carp, bonefish, tarpon, and anything else that will take a fly. She is a past president of Desert Fly Casters and a former board member of Zane Grey Trout Unlimited.
