Norm grew up tying flies and fly fishing on the Pecos River as well as various rivers and lakes in the southwest. He started in competition as a member of the Youth Fly Fishing Team USA in 1977 and won the individual gold in the first World Youth Fly Fishing Championship in Wales, UK. As a member of Fly Fishing Team USA he competed in 9 world Championships and won gold at the 2018 National Fly Fishing Championship. He has several fly patterns for sale by Umpqua Feather Merchants. He has been a guide for High Desert Anglers since 1997. He has numerous videos about various aspects of fly fishing on his YouTube channel. He also mentors many up and coming guides and indigenous fly fishers.

We continue to have our monthly general membership meetings at the North 4th Street Art Center, 4904 4th Street NW, just north of Griegos (Comanche Rd west bound from I-25 turns into Griegos at Edith).
