Conclave speaker – Brian O’Keefe

Brian has combined a lifetime of fly fishing photography with a lot of serious fly fishing. He sold his first fly fishing photo when he was 16. That was 49 years ago! In that time he was been very busy trying to fish and photo as many interesting places as possible. His angling travels have taken him to distant destinations like Cuba, Tonga, Bikini Atoll, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Kashmir, England, Brazil, Nicaragua and many more. As much as he likes trips to the Bahamas, Belize, the Yucatan, etc, He is just as much a home water fisherman. He moved to Central Oregon in 1975 and guided on the Deschutes in the late 70’s. Near his home in Powell Butte, Oregon he has enjoyed the Metolius River, Deschutes River, Crooked River and John Day River and many lakes in Central Oregon.

He has enjoyed a nice working relationship with many fly fishing magazines, plus Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Outside Magazine, newspapers and many tackle catalogs, books and websites.

We look forward to Brian’s visit to New Mexico in February to share a lot of cool photos, stories and fly fishing information.
