The Fly Tyers Roundtable brings new and experienced tyers together to exchange ideas, techniques and materials. Bring your gear or just come to watch and chat.

When: Each month, first and third Tuesdays unless it is a meeting day or a holiday

Location: Sandia Presbyterian Church, upstairs in Room 220 (updated fro 9/1/2026(

Time: 6-8:30 pm

To help cover the cost of the instruction printing and tying materials the class will start instituting a fee to cover these costs. Fees will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Please try and have exact change if you can.

Rod will provide tying instructions as well as the tying demonstration.

To find room 220 the best method is to enter the doors that face north, closest to the parking lot, go straight down the hall to the stairs or the elevator, and then go to the last room on the left down the west hallway.

August 18:

Rod will be teaching his Rod's Hopper pattern. This will be a two session fly. The first session will cover using packing tape for the wing and the segmented body tool instructions.

Materials list:

Hook: Size 10 - 12 200R Curved Dry Fly Hook

Thread: Yellow or Tan 6/0 or equivalent

Body: Yellow and Tan Foam for extended body

Dubbing: Cream or Yellow

Legs: Medium White Rubber

Wing: Prepared Pheasant Breast Feather

Indicator: Yellow Foam
