New Mexico Trout Fly Fishing Conclave Scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2020.

New Mexico — New Mexico Trout will hold its 36th Annual Conclave and primary fundraiser on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 9;00 AM until 5:00 PM at The University of New Mexico Continuing Education Center on 1634 University Blvd., NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Conclave addresses all aspects of fly-fishing and is open to the public. The featured speakers are Brian O’Keefe, the renowned fly-fishing photographer, international guide, author, and lecturer, and Geri Meyer, guide, lecturer and owner of Athena & Artemis Women’s Fly Shop.  Each will give a series of talks throughout the day that will be of interest to novices and experts alike. The Conclave will also include demonstrations on fly tying and split bamboo fly rod building.

The Conclave will feature an extremely popular raffle of donated gear such as rods, reels, flies, fishing clothing, and other gear, as well as guided fishing trips. Donated used items will be available for purchase in a garage sale format.

Tickets are $20 with free admission for attendees 12 and under who accompany a paying adult. All ticket purchasers will also be entered into a drawing for a custom crafted CTS 10 foot, 4 weight fly rod.  Tickets can be purchased on-line at and at the Los Pinos Fly and Tackle Shop.  Lunch is not included with admission, but will be available from several on-site food trucks.

New Mexico Trout is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of trout fishing in New Mexico’s waters. The Club does this through hands-on restoration of riparian habitats and by educating the public about trout fishing and the value of trout habitats.  NM Trout raises operating funds for its conservation projects from the annual Conclave, as well as from member dues and donations.

New Mexico Trout partners with State, Federal, and private agencies to accomplish its mission and to introduce people to the benefits of fly fishing in order to recruit more participants to the sport. NM Trout provides volunteer labor and donates money to purchase supplies to complete worthy projects.
