New Riparian Restoration Program for Streams on New Mexico National Forests
The Carson, Cibola, and Santa Fe National Forests and the Kiowa National Grasslands have announced the release of the Draft Environmental Assessment for Northern New Mexico Riparian, Aquatic and Wetland Restoration Project. The Draft EA is available for review and comment.
April 2020 General Meeting – cancelled
The April 14th general meeting is cancelled in consideration of the most recent CDC guidance on meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Fly-Tiers will not meet until after April 6th. Check back for details.

Conservation Update – Spring 2020
New Mexico Trout will have an active 2020 volunteer program … but the dates have not yet been set. Projects include cleanup of the Rio Guadalupe corridor, willow planting and construction of vehicle barriers.
Fly of the Month – Chocolate Cake
Jerry Burton’s signature “Chocolate Cake” is a hopper pattern that is easy to tie, it can be used solo or on a hopper-dropper rig, and is well known for taking generations of trout across New Mexico and the southwest.
Project Healing Waters
Project Healing Waters supports the physical and mental rehabilitation of disabled veterans being treated at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque through regular, long term contact with the veterans on a weekly basis.
