November General Meeting

For our November general meeting, Cecil Rich, USFWS, will give us an update on the Jemez fisheries programs.

Conservation Project October 20

Beaver Dam Analogs are gaining recognition as an important stream restoration tool. The structures function similar to beaver dams by slowing the water down, spreading it out, and causing sediment to drop to the streambed. Join us on October 20 on the Rio Cebolla in the Jemez.

2018 F3T Film Tour – do over October 25

New Mexico Trout is proud to bring the Fly Fishing Film Tour to Albuquerque. The showing is Thursday, October 25 at the Rio Century 24. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.

October General Meeting

For our October 16 general meeting, Chris Kitcheyan, Supervisory Fish Biologist, USFWS Conservation Office Albuquerque, will speak on Native American recreational fishing programs and native fish conservation programs the Service has in partnership with the various Pueblos, Tribes and Nations.

September General Meeting

Our first general membership meeting after the summer break will be held next Tuesday. Our speaker is Tom Tighe, Assistant Manager at the Mora Fish Hatchery, who will talk about Gila trout restoration efforts.

Meet the Board – Darian Padilla, President

Meet the New Mexico Trout board president – Darian Padilla. Darian has been an active member of NMT since 2011. He arrived in New Mexico via the Air Force and is still on active duty serving at both Cannon and Kirtland AFB. He’s taken part in the Tingley Beach Youth Fishing Program, Project Healing Water, clinics at the Valles Caldera, and Reel Recovery at Cow Creek Ranch.
